Southern Volta Development Group (SOVODEG) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the HATOF Foundation, a leading Ghanaian-based international environmental NGO, to deepen collaboration in protecting the marine and coastal environment and accelerating climate action across the Southern Volta region.
The agreement, signed in Accra, establishes a long-term partnership between the two organizations, aligning efforts to build local capacity, promote sustainable socio-economic development, and empower communities to participate meaningfully in national and global climate discourse.
Under the MOU, SOVODEG and HATOF will:
- Jointly protect and restore marine and coastal ecosystems.
- Provide training and technical assistance to local communities and non-state actors.
- Submit joint project proposals to drive development in Southern Volta.
- Advocate for SOVODEG’s environmental and economic priorities at national and international levels.
The collaboration spans the eleven administrative districts of Southern Volta, including Keta, Anloga, Akatsi, Tongu, Ketu, Adaklu, and Ziope. As climate threats intensify, this alliance signals a proactive and united front toward sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and community resilience.
